Help! Book needed.

You know... i am in need of a good book.

I took a little book hiatus and have only really been reading blogs and the news online. I'll also admit to extremely enjoying some gossipy drivel (Life&Style, People).   I like a good story- can't skimp on the storyline.  Vampires? Yeah, maybe Bram Stoker's Dracula but i am not so sure about Twilight? If you suggest i read that story, you had better give me one super reason!

I am kind of out of the loop on what has just come out or who is popular these days (aside from the vampire stuff). I am taking a vacation to Maine in August and was thinking maybe i should revisit the King. As in Stephen? What does he have on the go- anything recent?

Or, with my kids getting to chapter-book ages... i thought perhaps i should read some HP. Have you read the Harry Potter series? I haven't even seen all of the movies, so most of the stories are entirely new to me.

The choices are endless and i need your help!

What should i read??

Twilight is addicting... make sure you have all of them ready to go! I have no "good reason" for you, but they are really good.
A book I just finished is Little Princes by Conor Grennan and I really enjoyed it. Check it out: http://www.harpercollins.ca/books/Little-Princes-Conor-Grennan/?isbn=9780061930058
Happy reading! :)

Have you read Room or Secret Daughter. Both really good but easy read books.

I love Jennifer Wiener and she has a new book coming out in a few days.

I don't read horror so I'm not much help there.
Do not read Twilight. Gag. So so so so bad, all of them. By end of summer you'll wanna shoot yourself.

What about The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo series? Three books will keep you busy for some time.

The Help is light and fun. The Book Thief will break your heart.

Anything by Lori Lansens.

Lullabies for Little Criminals.

A Town Like Alice, classic.

The Ruins. Awesome scary summer read.

The Time Traveler's Wife, my fave.

I could go on. Let me know if you want me to.

And all but the last Harry Potter are completely and totally wicked. I loved them. Except the last, I read two thirds and scrapped it. I couldn't take it anymore. I know, it's crazy.

I hate Twilight...I got 1/3 way through the first one and threw it out! I loved The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo series!! Harry Potter was alright. I also really liked Eye of The Needle by Ken Follett...it's an oldie but a goodie :) I loved My Sister's Keeper...but you may not want to cry all of your holiday ;)

I still stand by Twilight... bet they were better to read before the movies came out though. I always prefer the book to the movie. :)
Secret Daughter is really good too! Reading the Time Traveler's Wife right now and so far, so good.
I loved the Twilight series! I loved Water for Elephants, The Help. I'm reading Rob Lowe autobiography right now and loving it. Time Travelers Wife was awesome too. good luck!

Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver is a great read that I just finished.

Twilight was the biggest piece of garbage I have ever read. Ever.

Loved the Millenium Trilogy but found the first 75-100 pages hard to get into.

I am a huge Harry fan and I am now reading book 2 aloud to Jacob (read them all to Andrew over the years). I love rediscovering them with him.

Enjoyed Emily Giffin's books (Something Borrowed, Something Blue, Baby Proof, Love the One You're With, and Heart of the Matter). Chick lit on first glance but I really enjoyed them.
