Bighorn Meadows Resort: A Staycation Paradise in the Heart of Radium Hot Springs, British Columbia

Most of my Radium Hot Springs, British Columbia experience, revolves around our mountain top off-grid cabin. I have never stayed in town at a hotel, and I have only eaten at a handful of restaurants. I do know where to find the best coffee and I am very familiar with the 'Visitor Centre' (our main source for water resupply at the cabin), but I am still very much a tourist to the area.

"The Mountains Shall Bring peace to the people ... and I must go!"

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to change all that... with a Girls-only weekend getaway to Bighorn Meadows Resort in Radium. A few of us ladies (okay, 15 of us) had organized a weekend of being lazy, of sleeping in, of spa-ing, of crafting, of shopping, of drinking too much wine, of hot-tubbing and for doing all the things that WE wanted to do. A recharge, if you will.

The Bighorn Meadows Resort, nestled into the Columbia River Valley and set on one of Radium's best golf courses, could not have been a better place for us to connect with nature (you will see SHEEP!) and with each other. We stayed in five, gorgeous 3-bedroom suites, fully equipped with kitchens and big gigantic bath tubs! The cherry on top -- each of us had our own HUGE luxurious bed!

Granted we took our space liberties, as these 3 bedroom suites (plus a pull-out in the living-room) could comfortably sleep up to 8 people.

And... with the suites being 'green side', make for a quick escape to the golf course during the summer, or for a cross-country ski in the winter.

Off-site exploration led us to the nearby town of Invermere... for shopping, eating and checking out the winter activities on Lake Windermere.
