Lay's Chip Trip~ The Edmonton Valley Zoo

Last weekend, our family drove off for some fun in Edmonton! While the drive itself leaves much to be desired (think, stick straight road for 3.5hrs!), we were very excited to meet up with some friends of ours that we had not seen since last year at this time. Our gang has a history of doing zoo-type things together, so i couldn't think of a better chance to use up some of my Lay's Chip Trip points!

Aside: I had no problems whatsoever printing up the vouchers. Just check that your printer is connected (once it's printed, that's it! the points come off your total!) and you'll do just fine. We needed 3 vouchers for our group, at Buy1 get 1-50% off (4 adults, 3 kids, 1-under 2 free).

The Calgary Zoo (near us) is a very large zoo and is at most times, a bit too much for our young kids. The Edmonton Valley Zoo seemed to be just the right size, with a storybook theme and even lots of shade! Our kiddos were able to comfortably roam to see what caught their eye, without parents having to split up or chase after. Mr. Dumpty got a lot of play time...

while the fish tank shark was a huge favourite too!

The Cat and The Fiddle inspired some ooohs and ahhs...but really, it was more like- um...'what is that'?? Inside the fiddle we found an old school phone booth! That's right! Once again, inspiring more, 'what is that?'

Geesh, kiddos these days-LOL!

Xman always runs for anything with a motor. Motors are his best friends. I do believe, given just a bit more time away from our sight, he would indeed drive a golf cart.

Hmm...i want a drink of water, but i have to put my head into the lions mouth??

Hmm...

(Noting her keen survival skills. Sticking your head IN a lion's mouth is never a good idea!

Unless you're in the circus!)

Whatever it was...the animals,

the Merry-Go-Round or the train ride finale,

we saw,

the biggest smiles all day!

Days like this, just can't be beat!

Especially with great friends to share it with!
Thank you Lay's Chip Trips, for encouraging us to go explore where we live!

We all had a super time!

Next on the agenda: The Telus World of Science!

*The Lay's Chip Trips promotion began on March 1, 2010 and ends at 8:00 AM (ET) , December 31, 2010. You still have time to use yours!*

Peek Thru Our Window was given Chip Trip Points by Fleishman-Hillard Canada Inc. for Frito Lay, as well as a gift card to off-set the costs incurred.

Looks like a really cool Zoo. Our zoo is FREE! Except the tax payers support that place ...about $50 per year per household...so it's not REALLY free, but anyone can enter whenever they want.....You can probably check out an online version if you search St Louis Zoo

This zoo looks like a great place to visit. I'm really enjoying going on ChipTrips, too. It gets me off my arse and the kids really enjoy exploring new places. Enjoy the rest of the long weekend!

Wow - we may have been at the zoo at the same time as you guys. We went on the Sunday, it was so nice out and my daughter stayed up past her nap time.
