Canadian Weblog Awards- Official Results Are In

2010 Canadian Weblog Awards

And there we have it!
(The pretty new blog flare i won!)

Little ol' me,
and this little ol' blog,
(Peek Thru Our Window)

What a great way to start the New Year!

Thank you to all who voted.

Twit Twit Twoo!

Yep, me too.

*Drop me your handle, so i can check you out!*

In Like A Lamb, Out Like A Lion?? Oh wait, that's Spring!

HOLY blogging absence Batman!
This week was definitely my longest away from the ol' blog ever!

Do i feel renewed?  Do i have more to say?  Less?  Never, mowahaha!

The Family and I were away visiting the family in Ontario and i guess, i didn't want to inform the whole world that my house would be empty.  I mean, it is bad enough that my daughter Beebo took it upon herself to inform Santa that we would.not.be.here.  I am only thankful that she does not know our address, for realsies...she would have given that up too!

Christmas was Christmas.  We went to the inlaws house first, enjoying days of not knowing where anything is meal planning for 10 in the new kitchen!   I have to say, you definitely know you are an adult when one drools over a new kitchen.  Then it was off to visit my family!  Truthfully, i am saddened by the Christmas experience with my family this year.  (We're all a little too selfish stubborn for our own good.)   Christmas was always such a good time back in the day.  Maybe it was those 'child-like' Christmas eyes, like 'rose-tinted' glasses or something??  I am always astounded when people cannot just suck it up for the sake of the season, but oh well.  Do-over, on that part of Christmas please??

I did manage to sneak in a few awesome visits with peeps i have not seen in years, so those visits turned out to mean a lot.

In regards to the Canadian Weblog Awards, People's Choice award i was up for...hmm, what to say about that??  Definitely honoured that one of you took the time to nominate me.  Definitely surprised to have made the Top 5 (of 35 nominated blogs total)!  And even more thankful, to all those who voted for Peek Thru Our Window and to those who posted the link and made their friends vote for me too! The blogging world is a really special place for me.  Without this facet in my life to unload all the crap that i encounter , i would seriously blow up.  So thank you so much for putting up with me.
*Official results for the Canadian Weblog Awards will be announced tonight at Midnight!*

I won't lie...
As good as 2010 was, i am pretty sure that 2011 has to be better!

Happy New Year's Eve All--
Be Safe.  Be Merry.

See you in 2011!  Yeehaw!

The number of years since the Lunar Eclipse and the Solstice coincide...

The eclipse will start just before midnight MST Monday night, with the main event starting at 11:30 p.m. and lasting until 3:30 a.m, Tuesday, December 21, 2010.

May your skies be clear, and may the days get longer once again!

My Gwyneth Obsession

Okay, the lady can sing and i am over-the-top fascinated with Gwyneth! I even love just saying her name, lol. She will apparently appear on another episode of GLEE, in a month or two. Until then, we can enjoy her in the new movie, "Country Strong", out in theatres January 7th, 2011.

Wordful Wednesday

Who am i kidding?  I can't be wordless about these lovely pictures!

The Chinook cloud, that gave most of Cowtown a headache all week!

Our 2nd Annual Christmas trip to the Bass Pro Shop--
i never thought it possible to find a Santa as good as last years.
Man, was i wrong!
This years Santa was so authentic I wanted to hop on his lap!

Xman got his new ski boots!
He wore them for over half an hour,
dancing around the livingroom!

Happy Wednesday!

MAN Gift Idea?

My Hubby was doing some online shopping, when he came across this!

HE thinks it is God's gift to Man.
HE thinks this is the BEST invention ever!

Clearly, i am not as excited about this product as HE.

I mean--okay.  Definitely okay for HIS office...

but, my countertop??

Dunno.

Wordful Wednesday

DaddyO and MommyO had decided that life was just too darn busy lately!
So, we packed up and took the kids to a hotel with a huge playzone and waterslides!

We slid, slid, slid!
And played, played, played!

When we got home, Beebo and Xman were playing in the playroom.
MommyO was making dinner.
I tried calling out to the kids and received no answer.

DaddyO and MommyO decided to go investigating--here is what we found:

Notice how they both handily destroyed the playroom,
then fell asleep on top of everything??

I LOVE sleeping kids!

Things That Make You Go Hmm....

Recently, i ordered some stuff online from a USA Company and while i was reading their 'shipping' protocol, this is what it said:

We are currently shipping to Canada on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Average time from shipment to your door is 6-9 days. (Yep, ok- gots that!)

Canadian Customers: Your items are delivered with Canadian customs, duties, and all GST/HST taxes prepaid.
Duties & Taxes (not including options): US$16.20.
Total purchase price: US$70.20
Total in Canadian dollars (1USD~1.0201CD):~$71.61CD. (Yep, ok- gots that too!)

Note: Alberta customers and those in the remote provinces no one really lives in are billed Duties + 5% GST, all other provinces are billed Duties + 12% HST. If you are from Saskatchewan we probably owe you a free hat for the 2% difference so feel free to ask for it. Those of you to the far east probably owe us a hat but we'll just let it slide.

Say What??

So- eventhough i am living in Alberta, i asked for a hat anyways!  And guess what....i got one!  Tee hee!

Friday Thoughts...

"Forced Creativity" is defined as:

Making meals, while trying to eat the fridge/freezer empty!
~ It must be done, but boy does it suck!~

Time is Running Out!

Frito Lay's Chip Trip promotion is nearing its end, December 31, 2010.  Do you still have points left? We have had a super time this year, getting out and about locally, while enjoying some savings along the way.

We visited the Edmonton Zoo...at Buy 1, Get 1 free!

We took a fall trip to the Calgary Zoo, to see the last of the Dinosaurs Alive exhibit!
50% off a Group of 4.

And we also went up the Calgary Tower!  Buy 1, Get 1 free!

It is likely that we still would have done some of this stuff, but it sure is nice to have a coupon to help out!  I have also been able to help out a few other families/friends with some of my Chip Trip points, as they do not have to be printed out in your own name.  They were easy to collect (1 or 2 bags of chips gave us these discounts!) and easy to use!

So get out there!  See your world locally!  And enjoy the savings!
Time is running out!

Question to my Canadian Readers:  Did you have a chance to use your Lay's Chip Trip points this year?  What did you do and how much did you save??  Would you like to see a promotion like this again?

*Peek Thru Our Window was given Chip Trip Points by Fleishman-Hillard Canada Inc. for Frito Lay to fascilitate this post.  The opinions expressed are my own.*
